Launched last November 1, for a period of 30 days, the operation to subscribe new shares to the public offering of the Société Commerciale Gabonaise de Réassurance (SCG-Ré) ends on November 30, 2022. The subscription was launched for all natural or legal persons throughout the country, in the countries of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (Cemac), wishing to become a shareholder of the subsidiary of the Gabonais Strategic Investment Fund (FGIS).

The operation worth 5 billion CFA francs is part of the SCG-Ré Strategic and Development Plan 2022 - 2027. It aims to finance its international expansion and the number of shares to be issued on the market amounts to 250,000, for a unit price of 20,000 FCFA francs.

For the SCG-Ré Director-CEO, Andrew Gwodog, this operation is the realization of the vision of the Gabonese President, Ali Bongo Ondimba, who decided in 2021 to introduce three Gabonese companies, including the Société Commerciale Gabonaise de Réassurance subsidiary of FGIS, to the Cemac unified stock exchange. Thus, its success will make SCG-Ré, the first insurance company of the Inter-African Insurance Market Conference (Cima), to be listed on the stock exchange both in the Cemac zone and in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA).
