La Securitization is a financial process that consists of transferring a portfolio of claims to a fund (FCTC) that issues securities backed by these assets funds and sells them to investors, hence the term securitization according to Adji Sokhna Mbaye, CEO of the West African Development Bank (BOAD). It allows a company to transform its claims into marketable securities on the financial market, allowing it to raise funds quickly without increasing its debt ratio.

The securitization transaction is an issue of 150 billion FCFA. It will make it possible to partially finance the “Djoliba” plan from BOAD. A plan that covers five priority areas: agriculture and food security, infrastructure, energy, health and education, and real estate. The main objectives of this plan are to contribute to the creation of 245,000 jobs, to increase the average production of drinking water by 88,000 m3/day, to enable the production of 170,000 tons of rice per year, to contribute approximately 3,700 billion FCFA to the GDP of the states, to set up 13,000 km of roads, to contribute 380 MW of additional energy capacity and to avoid 18 million tCO2.
