On Monday 24 April, two financing agreements worth 70 million euros were signed in Brussels to strengthen the partnership between the EU and Togo. The signing was made between the European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, and the Togolese Prime Minister, Victoire Tomegah-Dogbé

The first funding agreement between the EU and Togo aims to develop agro-industries and their productivity while improving the management of natural resources, with a contribution of 30 million euros from the EU budget. It is an initiative set up for sustainable agro-industry. It aims to transform certain value chains such as pineapple and cashew nuts in order to improve food security, job creation, the preservation of natural resources and biodiversity, says the Commission

As for the second agreement, it concerns a 40 million euro budget support program to support access to basic social services including electricity, agriculture, and the decentralization process.
