The General Directorate of Taxes (DGi) is the main provider of resources for the Malian State. The Minister of Economy and Finance said in a statement that this tax administration plays a crucial role for Mali's economic sovereignty. However, the Department of Large Enterprises (Dge) is the linchpin for achieving the objectives of mobilizing resources for the State.

Alousséni Sanou said in a statement that despite an international context characterized by several crises and the cessation of budgetary support from Mali's technical and financial partners, the Directorate General of Taxes plays a role crucial for the country's economic sovereignty. In fact, according to the press release, “in the amended 2013 Finance Act, the resource objectives assigned to the General Tax Directorate under the leadership of Mathias Konaté amount to 1,116 billion FCFA out of the 2,151.00 billion allocated to all

revenue services, or approximately 50%”.

For its part, the Department of Large Enterprises (Dge) is the linchpin in achieving the objectives of mobilizing resources for the State, since more than 80% of the DGi's revenues come from this structure within the tax administration, i.e. 980 billion CFA francs for 2023. The same document indicated that the DGE “has already mobilized more than 550 billion CFA francs, representing a recovery rate of approximately 60% at 4 months before the end of the fiscal year

”.

Also, for the month of last July, out of a monthly forecast of 81 billion CFA francs, the Dge was able to recover 85 billion CFA francs, or 104% despite a difficult economic situation, due to several exogenous and endogenous factors.
