Le rassemblement tenu hier et présidé par le Gouverneur de la BCEAO, Jean Claude Kassi Brou made it possible to examine the report on monetary policy in the West African Monetary Union (UMOA). According to the latter, “this report prepared by the services of the Central Bank provides a summary of recent developments in the international and internal environment as well as the economic and financial prospects of the Union”. The governor said global growth is expected to rise to 3.20% in 2024. He believes that “inflation remains high despite a downward trend in this context, most central banks have kept their key interest rate unchanged, with however lower expectations in the second half of 2024.
