The Director General of Customs, Adidjatou Hassan Zanouvi has launched since Monday, June 10, 2024 in Cotonou a five-day workshop on cargo control as part of the implementation of phase 2 of the World Customs Organization's West African Security Project (PSAO).

Les travaux qui regroupent Beninese customs officials and other partner structures, including the UMCC (Joint Container Control Unit) and Benin Control

vise à renforcer les capacités des agents des douanes béninoises afin de leur permettre de connaître les critères qui orientent on the selection of containers or vehicles at risk and to learn good search practices.

Phase 2 of the PSAO was officially launched in February 2024 in Cotonou. Last May, five (05) Beninese customs officials attended a regional training in Lomé devoted to the use of the customs network to combat fraud (CEN database) and all of its applications. The project is implemented in 05 countries in West Africa, namely Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo and Nigeria. It is financed by the German Federal Foreign Office with the support of the German Customs Administration. The training of Beninese customs officials ends on June 14
