La African Development Bank (AfDB) has appointed veteran macroeconomist Eric Kehinde Ogunleye as director of the African Development Institute.

A Nigerian national, the new director of the African Development Institute previously served as head of the African Development Institute and head of the Institute's Policy Management Division. He was also an advisor to the Chief Economist and Vice President of the Bank's Economic Governance and Knowledge Management Complex. He has nearly twenty years of experience in the areas of macroeconomics and development economics, capacity building, public governance and regulatory reform, monitoring and evaluation, and policy advice
