The Joint Reinsurance Company of Member States (CICA-RE) of the Inter-African Conference on Insurance Markets (CIMA) will meet from Thursday 04 July 2024 in Abidjan on Thursday 04 July 2024 in Abidjan during its 40th anniversary. A summary of activities will be presented on the occasion.

A commemorative ceremony will be organized at the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire, under the presidency of the Minister of Finance and Budget, Adama Coulibaly. Ahead of this celebration of the 40th anniversary of the CICA-RE, the traditional seminars (Life & Non Vie) and the 42nd ordinary general meeting of shareholders will be held from 1 to 5 July. The highlight of the festivities will be a closing gala during which certificates will be given to participants. The meeting in Abidjan will be an opportunity for participants to take stock of the activities of CIMA's community reinsurer over the past four decades

.

In reality, the CICA-RE has achieved remarkable performances that ensure a solid financial situation, despite some constraints. Its turnover for 2023 was around 118 billion FCFA, an increase of 11% compared to the previous year when the turnover was 106 billion FCFA. Half of the turnover is generated in the CIMA zone and 50% in areas outside CIMA. The profit for the year was 10 billion CFA francs, compared to more than 8 billion in 2022, i.e. an increase of 22% representing 17% of the share capital. The net result has passed the symbolic threshold of 10 billion. The total balance sheet amounts to just over 254 billion FCFA, against 226 billion in 2022, an increase of 12%. Equity was strengthened by 6.67% to 104.62 billion CFA francs, and the prudential international solvency ratio
