Find all the economic and financial information on our Orishas Direct application to download on Play StoreLe vendredi July 26, 2024, a ceremony was held in Lomé to sign a grant agreement between the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) on behalf of Global Agriculture and Food Security program (GAFSP) and the Togolese Coordination of Peasant Organizations and Agricultural Producers (CTOP
).The agreement was signed in order to start the project “Support for the promotion of peasant agro-ecological market gardening in Togo (ProsMat)” project. This convention aims to contribute to food security and the sustainability of agricultural practices in the country. The signing of a grant agreement worth $2.43 million, between the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Togolese Coordination of Farmers' and Agricultural Producers Organizations (CTOP), thus marks the start of the implementation of the project “support for the promotion of agro-ecological peasant market gardening in Togo (ProSMAT)”, for a period of 40 months. CTOP intends to support vegetable farmers in 16 prefectures in the country's six agricultural regions in adopting agro-ecological market production practices and
in accessing markets.Selon IFAD's country director for Togo and Benin, Kaboré Jean Pascal, said that the project, by supporting small producers on the ground, will strengthen the capacities of CTOP to fully play its role as a key player in rural development in Togo.
