In its 2024 Country Report, the African Development Bank Group forecasts strong economic activity for Madagascar with a growth perspective of 4.5% in 2024 which is expected to rise to 5.3% in 2025.

The theme of the ADB report is entitled “Boosting Madagascar's transformation through the reform of the global financial architecture”. It was published in July in Antananarivo by the Bank's country office in consultation with the Government of Madagascar. According to Adam Amoumoun, the Bank's country manager in Madagascar, “the theme of the 2024 country report is in line with the objective of the Bank's 2022 to 2026 Country Strategy Paper for Madagascar, which is to accelerate the structural transformation of the economy, supported by industrialization in order to create decent and green jobs.” For his part, Kevin Chika Urama, Chief Economist and Vice President of the African Development Bank Group in charge of Economic Governance and Knowledge Management, emphasized the importance of country relationships in order to inform national policies and to feed the authorities' policy dialogue with the private sector and development partners on structural transformation
