Nigerian stock exchange: a value of approximately $38,305 traded in 15,700 trades

Last week, a negotiation with a total turnover of 938.020 million shares worth 16.701 billion naira (about $38.305) was made by investors on the floor of the Nigerian stock exchange.

The Exchange published a weekly trading report on Friday, October 21, 2022 in Lagos. The report showed that the figures contrasted with a total of 491.815 million shares valued at 11.922 billion naira that traded hands in 14,350 transactions. The same report added that the ICT sector followed with 316.347 million shares worth N8,729 billion in 1,249 transactions, while the financial services sector was at the top of the business chart with 501.278 million shares valued at 5,080 billions of naira traded in 8,279 transactions. The third place consisted of a turnover of 28,244 million shares worth N983,561 million in 846 transactions. It's about the oil and gas industry. The same report states that trading in the three main stocks represented 490.324 million shares worth NAIRAS 2.905 billion in 2,860 transactions.

Also, market capitalization and the NGX All-Share Index depreciated by 6.67% to close the week at 44,396.73 and 24.182 trillion naira respectively. In addition, with the exception of NGX CG, NGX Banking, NGX Pension, NGX AFR Bank, NGX AFR Div Yield, NGX MERI Growth, NGX MERI Value, and NGX Industrial which rose by 0.17%, 0.15%, 0.58%, 2.10%, 2.45%, 1.22%, 3.12%, 3.12%, and 3.22% respectively, all other indexes ended lower. While the NGX ASem, NGX Growth, and NGX Sovereign Bond indices closed flat.
