In a press release issued by the Ministry of Finance on Thursday, November 10, 2022, it was announced that the Treasury has received 45 billion Congolese francs from Treasury bills put up for auction on Tuesday, November 8 by the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The press release from the Ministry of Finance informed that “the results of the three-month batch with two bidders served brought 45,000,000,000 FC (45 billion Congolese francs) to the State Treasury, representing a coverage rate of the amount auctioned of 75% at the accepted limit price of 6.50% and a weighted average price of 5.36 % and the percentage awarded at the 100% accepted limit price.”

According to the same press release, the government plans to borrow a total amount of 320 billion Congolese Francs (CDF), or nearly 160 million USD, between October 1 and December 13, 2022 through the Ministry of Finance. In addition, the government plans to borrow 60 billion Congolese francs (FC), or nearly 30 million USD, on both segments of the local financial market.
