Cameroon accumulated a debt of 732 billion FCFA between January and September 2022 on the domestic market.

Cameroon incurred debts of 732 billion FCFA francs between January and September 2022 according to data provided by the Autonomous Amortization Fund (CAA), Cameroon's public debt manager. According to this source, the envelope of 732 billion FCFA consists of 36.8% of assimilable Treasury bills (Bta), 31.1% of Assimilable Treasury Bonds (Ota) with maturities of 4 to 10 years and 32.1% of bond debt (Treasury bond with 7 years of maturity).

Indeed, Cameroon has incurred 68% of its domestic debt on the BEAC government securities market. This, through issues of Bta and Ota, which are short and long-term public securities respectively, allowing the country in particular to manage cash flow pressures and finance investment projects.

At the end of September 2022, the Autonomous Amortization Fund (Caa) estimated Cameroon's domestic public debt stock at 2998.9 billion FCFA francs.
