PROPARCO granted a new loan of 2 million euros ($2.1 million) to Microfinance Solidaire (MFS). Announced on Tuesday, October 15, this financing will support the lending activity of several subsidiaries of the structure in Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia and Haiti. It will go directly to microfinance institutions established in Senegal, Sierra Leone, Leone, Leone, Togo, Liberia, Burma and Haiti

Proparco's loan to MFS will have positive impacts in terms of reducing gender inequalities, with 88% of the final beneficiaries being women. The project will also support the financing of the agricultural sector (37% of loans granted), and more generally economic development in countries where MFS is present.
