L'Association Insurance Companies of Cameroon (ASAC) published in December 2024 figures according to which two out of 10 insurance companies operating in the life and capitalization segment in Cameroon, concentrate 51.06% of the market In 2023. It is a local subsidiary of the German group Allianz and Prudential Beneficial Life Insurance (

Prubli).

Allianz remains in the lead with 22.8 billion CFA francs in turnover, down 11.15% year-on-year. Despite this underperformance, Allianz controlled 25.66% of the market in 2023. Prubli follows with a turnover of 22.5 billion CFA francs, up 11.08% year-on-year. The local subsidiary of the British group controlled 25.40% of the market in 2023. ASAC notes a significant increase in premiums on the market in 2023, mainly driven by the increase in individual insurance. In fact, premiums from individual insurance increased by 8.11% year-on-year to reach 41 billion CFA francs. On the other hand, group insurance recorded a decrease of 3.75% compared to 2022, with premiums estimated at 47.6 billion FCFA. As a reminder, life insurance represents 32.36% of the market, with a volume of premiums of 88.87 billion FCFA in 2023, against 87.71 billion FCFA in 2022
