La 4e réunion ministérielle du comité de pilotage du Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline Project ( TSGP) was held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at the Abdelatif-Rahal International Conference Center in Algiers. On the occasion, three crucial documents were initialled .

Le Trans-Saharan gas pipeline is a flagship project aimed at connecting Nigeria's gas reserves to Algeria, by crossing Niger. It will make it possible to export natural gas to Europe and other international markets, thus strengthening the energy security of the countries concerned. This project is estimated to be over 4,000 km long.

For his part, Rachid Hachichi, CEO of Sonatrach, “TSGP will strengthen our ability to meet the growing demand for natural gas, while strengthening our relationships with our African neighbors.” According to the information, TSGP is not limited to a simple energy project. It symbolizes strengthened cooperation between the three countries, paving the way for increased economic and political integration in West and North Africa.

Par ailleurs, les trois documents signés sont entre autres, le contrat de mise à jour de l' étude de faisabilité aimed at updating the technical and economic data of the project. This contract was signed by the energy ministers of the three countries. Then the compensation contract (CEO) of visant à actualiser les données techniques et économiques du projet a été signé par les national energy companies ( style="font-family: "Calibri”, ans-serif">). Sonatrach for Algeria, NNPC for Nigeria and SONIDEP for Niger). Finally, the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) intended to protect sensitive information related to the project. According to the Algerian Minister of Energy, Mohamed Arkab, “these agreements mark a significant advance in the realization of this continental project.”
