US gold futures rose 0.4% to $3,004.20. Spot gold was stable at $2,990.54 per ounce as of 0847 GMT. Earlier in the session, gold's safe haven hit a record $2,993.80. The bar has hit 13 all-time highs since the start of the year and is on the way for a second straight week of gains
.Spot silver gained 0.5% to $33.96 per ounce, platinum lost 0.2% to $992.15, and palladium gained 1% to $967.42 per ounce.
