L'éxécutif congolais a signé last February with the Singaporean company Trident Digital Tech Holdings Ltd a memorandum of understanding with the aim of strengthening the digital identity of the population. Through this agreement, the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Technology, last week launched the work to validate the said partnership.

In particular, the partnership will allow the establishment of a national digital identification system. Digital identity is one of the pillars of digital transformation, which the Congolese government has made a priority. To this end, the government is committed to facilitating the integration of Trident's Tridentity digital identification solution into public and private services; to setting up a national awareness and training program; to strengthening technological infrastructures, in particular through investments in the sovereign cloud and secure data centers; and to encourage local innovation, by supporting startups and digital players.

It aims to create more than 30,000 direct and indirect jobs in digital, cybersecurity, administration and services; to increase financial inclusion by 40%, allowing millions of people to access banking and digital services risks; to reduce administrative delays by 50%; to stimulate economic growth, by facilitating cross-border trade and investment; and to improve social protection and public services, through secure digital identification for health, education and social assistance
