Burkina obtained on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, an amount of 38.500 billion CFA francs following its simultaneous issuance of 364-day treasury bills and assimilable 3, 5 and 7-year treasury bonds issued at the level of the WAEMU financial market.

The issuer had auctioned the sum of 35 billion FCFA. After the auction, the overall bids from investors amounted to 44,642 billion FCFA. This corresponds to a coverage rate of 127.55% for the amount put up for auction.

The amount of tenders selected was 38.500 billion FCFA and that rejected was 6.142 billion FCFA. This gives an absorption rate of 86.24%

Investors whose submissions were selected will end up with a weighted average return of 9.22% for good bonds, 7.92% for 3-year bonds, 7.92% for 3-year bonds, 8.48% for 5-year bonds, 8.48% for 5-year bonds and 8.34% for 7-year bonds.

The Burkinabe Public Treasury undertakes to repay the vouchers on the first working day following the due date set at March 25, 2026. Interest will be paid in advance and deducted from the nominal value of the vouchers

Regarding the repayment of the principal of the bonds, it is scheduled for the first business day following the due date set at March 27, 2028 for 3-year bonds, 27 March 2028 for 3-year bonds, 27 March 2030 for 5-year bonds, and 27 March 2032 for 7-year bonds.
