La Banque centrale a annoncé que les montants mobilisés par les pays de la Cemac (Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Equatorial Guinea, Chad and CAR) on the public securities market of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC) between December 2023 and December 2024 amount to 5079.3 billion FCFA

The amounts raised reveal an increase of 743 billion CFA francs year-on-year. In addition to this increase in financing mobilized, the market was also characterized by “a decrease in emission coverage rates and an increase in emission costs”. According to the central bank, “at December 31, 2024, the distribution of the stock of securities by the nature of the final holders shows that 62.2% of outstanding Treasury values are held by Treasury Securities Specialists (SVT) and institutional investors (insurance companies, pension funds, etc.) occupy second place with 19.4%. The share of non-SVT credit institutions and natural persons in these financial instruments represents 13.1% and 3.1% respectively of the outstanding amount of public securities
