The Development Bank of Ghana (DBG) wants to improve access to finance in the agricultural sector in 2025. According to information relayed by local media, Randolph Nsor-Ambala, managing director of the financial institution, unveiled on 18 April a support program of 500 million cedis ($32.4 million) for the benefit of SMEs

in the sector this year.

La DBG injecte 500 millions de GHinto Ghana's agricultural value chain this year, as part of a larger effort to empower SMEs, improve food security and revitalize the economy, CEO Dr. Randolph Nsor-Ambala announced.

The initiative, unveiled at the 2025 Kwahu Business Forum in Mpraeso under the theme “The Future of Business: The Role of the Financial Sector”, aims to provide not only capital, but also targeted technical assistance to businesses and partner financial institutions. DBG's approach aims to build a sustainable and inclusive economy by directing resources to sectors with high potential for growth and job creation

“The DBG aims to create inclusive opportunities, create jobs, build resilient businesses, and make Ghana competitive in African and global markets,” said Dr. Nsor-Ambala during his opening speech.
