Since Monday, May 19, 2025, decentralization actors from the Central and Plateaux regions have met at a training workshop on local finances in Blitta-Gare.

Placed under the theme “Local finances: development and execution of budget documents”, the workshop, which ends on Thursday, May 22, is initiated by the National Agency for the Training of Local Authorities (ANFCT) with the financial support of the World Bank (BM), through the Program of modernization of the public administration for the delivery of services (PMADS). The objective of this training is to introduce regional actors to the legislative and regulatory texts that govern local public finances in Togo. The advantage is also to equip them with the tools for reporting documents, the determination of results and their integration into the supplementary budget. This training also aims to highlight the actors involved in the execution of the regional budget, their roles, missions and tasks in the budget execution process

Over the past four days, several modules have been developed. These include the legal framework for local public finances; budget documents, budget principles; the development and execution of budget documents and accountability. According to the director general of ANFCT, Dodzi Komi Denyo, this training is necessary because it will strengthen the know-how and interpersonal skills of regional actors in order to enable them to fully play their roles
