In a press release published on May 20, 2025 on the website of the Agency for Market Regulation (ARM), it is announced the temporary suspension of the marketing of onions and potatoes produced by agricultural enterprises over the period from May 22 to June 15, 2025.

The ban on the marketing of onions and potatoes produced by agricultural enterprises is part of a context of imbalance between supply and demand on the local market, marked by overproduction leading to falling prices and post-harvest losses observed among small producers. According to the document, “this marketing range will allow small producers, who do not have é storage capacity, to serif">'é couler leurs stocks dans des conditions favorables ”. Thus, several companies are involved in the production of onions and industrial potatoes. These include Swami Agri, SCL, Van Oers, Africa Farmer Food, and Sedagri.
