On the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), held from 19 to 22 May in Algiers, the Senegalese government and the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) signed a 2 billion euros framework agreement.

Senegal has just taken a key step in its economic transformation strategy. The signed agreement will cover the period 2025-2029. The objective is to accelerate Senegal's development through targeted investments in energy, agriculture, health and the private sector, while creating sustainable jobs. According to both parties, “this new agreement consolidates strategic cooperation to finance vital sectors of our economy.” This new cycle is part of the Senegal 2050 vision, the strategic framework of the new authorities, which aims to reposition the country as a major economic player in West Africa, with an inclusive, resilient and competitive economy
