Brent crude futures were unchanged at $64.78 per barrel at 12:34 GMT while American West Texas Intermediate crude slipped 4 cents to $61.49 per barrel. Both contracts had progressed earlier in the session after Trump said he had agreed to extend the deadline for trade negotiations with the European Union until July 9. Giovanni Staunovo, an analyst at UBS, said that “Trump's change of course, by deferring higher tariffs for the EU, and his comments on possible sanctions against Russia are moderately supporting crude prices today
.”
