The first edition of the Private Sector Forum has been ongoing since Tuesday, May 27 in Ouagadougou. The national event that ends today was sponsored by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Dr. Aboubakar

Nacanabo.

The main theme of the first edition of the Private Sector Forum is entitled “Building Sustainable and Inclusive Pathways to Development.” This forum, initiated by the World Bank, is intended to be a space for strategic thinking and open exchanges between private sector actors, public authorities, technical and financial partners, as well as humanitarian organizations. The objective is to co-build concrete solutions for inclusive, resilient and sustainable growth in Burkina Faso. On the program, several panels address key themes for the country's economic development. These include access to finance for SMEs; the co-construction of sustainable employment opportunities for women and internally displaced persons, by the private sector in partnership with the government, the World Bank group and humanitarian organizations. In addition, there is investment in energy, land and telecommunications, three sectors considered strategic for the structural transformation of the economy; the industrialization of the health sector to ensure the country's health sovereignty; the agricultural ecosystem, a major lever for food self-sufficiency and the creation of jobs in rural areas; and the economic empowerment of women.

The opening ceremony was attended by the World Bank Division Director for Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali and Niger, Clara Ana De Sousa, and the President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Faso (COGEF), and the President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Faso (COGEF), Idrissa Nassa.
