La 10th edition of the International Forum on Islamic Finance in West Africa will be held on 23 and 24 June 2025 at the King Fahd Palace. This meeting is organized by the African Institute of Islamic Finance (Aiif), in partnership with the Islamic Development Bank (Bid) and the Government of Senegal under the theme “Sukuks and participatory financing: innovative tools for strategic projects and SMEs

A press release announces that the 10th edition of the International Forum on Islamic Finance will bring together more than 500 key players in Islamic finance, the private sector, the private sector, governments and regulatory institutions in the sub-region. Three strategic plenaries, technical sessions, a Deal Room for Islamic investment projects, and B2B meetings are planned for this purpose. Among the flagship themes, there is the issuance of sovereign and corporate Sukuks for infrastructures; participatory financing adapted to African SMEs; the role of Islamic fintechs and the digitalization of financial services; the development of the Halal industry in West Africa. This Forum is also intended to be a lever for advocacy for a better integration of Islamic financial markets in UEMOA, and an area of convergence between Gulf investors, monetary authorities and the West African economic fabric

According to Mouhamadou Lamine Mbacké, President of AIIF, “this anniversary edition is being held in a context where African states are looking for sustainable alternative financing, and where SMEs need adapted tools to grow. Islamic finance offers an innovative, inclusive and structuring response.”
