At the end of fiscal year 2024, the after-tax profit of the Benin National Lottery (LNB) S.A recorded a strong increase of 83% compared to its level in fiscal year 2023.

The company's turnover increased by 8.628 billion, reaching 102.54 billion FCFA against 93.915 billion FCFA in 2023. In the opinion of the LNB management, this growth is driven by LOTO 5/90 and online sports betting. The turnover of online games has in fact increased from 30.1 billion FCFA in 2023 to 57.1 billion FCFA in 2024, an increase of 91.7%, which represents 55.7% of

share in global turnover.

“This shows a massive shift to digital, a successful strategic change” underline LNB officials. They add that the commercial performance recorded reflects the tenacity of the incumbent gaming operator in Benin, in the face of the entry of new competitors as well as the relevance of its modernization and digitalization strategies

During the period under review, the company's other purchases amounted to 80.36 billion FCFA compared to 70.53 billion FCFA in 2023. For their part, transport went from 4.55 million FCFA in 2023 to 22.05 million FCFA in 2024. On the other hand, external services have fallen since they stood at 13.042 billion FCFA compared to 13.752 billion FCFA in 2023. The same decrease can be made concerning other expenses, which stand at 840.38 million FCFA against 1.23 billion FCFA

in 2023.

As for the added value of the LNB, it recorded a decrease of 7%, with an achievement of 8.65 billion FCFA against 9.30 billion FCFA in 2023.

The company's personnel expenses increased by 179 million to 3.297 billion FCFA compared to 3.118 billion FCFA in 2023.

The gross operating surplus fell by 13% to 5.36 billion FCFA compared to 6.18 billion FCFA in 2023.
