Cameroon has inaugurated its very first clinker production plant, marking a major strategic advance in the cement sector. It is supported by Cimencam (Cimenteries du Cameroun), a subsidiary of the giant Lafarge-Holcim

.

This industrial infrastructure is supported by CIMFIG, a 100% subsidiary of CIMENCAM, itself 55% owned by LHMA.

With a nominal capacity of 500,000 tons per year, this latest-generation factory, the first of its kind in the country, marks a major industrial advance for Cameroon's Far North. Its commissioning brings CIMENCAM's total production capacity to 2.3 million tons, thus consolidating its position as leader in the Cameroonian

market.

On this occasion, the President of LHMA, Said Elhadi, said that “the inauguration of this factory is not only a new industrial establishment, it embodies our shared vision of innovation, excellence and South-South cooperation. It is a strategic milestone for the sustainable development of the Great North of Cameroon, and a strong symbol of our commitment to the industrial emergence of

Cameroon.”

The result of several years of planning and joint efforts, this achievement required a global investment of 65 billion CFA francs, or more than 1 billion dirhams. Its financing was provided by a banking pool led by the Société Commerciale de Banque du Cameroun (SCB Cameroun), a subsidiary of the Attijariwafa Bank Group, acting as

the main lender.
