The Order of Notaries of Burkina Faso (ONBF) equipped its members from 16 to 17 July 2025 in Ouagadougou, on the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

Notaries, public officials responsible for providing a public service of proof and legal security for civil and commercial acts, occupy a capital and strategic place, not only in the daily lives of citizens, but also in the fight against phenomena that threaten societies. Indeed, training was held in two sessions, for notaries in the political capital and its surroundings, and in the economic capital, Bobo-Dioulasso, for those in the economic capital and surrounding areas. The theme of this training is: “mechanisms for the prevention and fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism in the notary sector”.

The Order of Notaries of Burkina Faso (ONBF) therefore aims to strengthen the technical and legal capacities of notaries in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT); guarantee the compliance of the profession with respect to new national and international regulatory requirements; pr& prepare the notary sector for the next evaluation of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), by providing concrete evidence of commitment and professionalism

During the two days of training, the participants were equipped by a veteran in the field and in a participatory approach.
