Covid-19, the war in Ukraine, the climate emergency, are among others the economic challenges facing African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. They are calling for decisive changes within the International Monetary Fund. African ministers called on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to strengthen its operating model, lending instruments, and governance structure at the end of the meeting. The aim was to “better deal with global exogenous shocks such as the Covid-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine and the ongoing climate crisis.”
