The World Bank's planned contribution will increase the original agricultural sector support envelope from $4 billion to $5.5 billion. This commitment was made to support the reforms needed to improve soil health and strengthen the fertilizer sector, particularly in terms of subsidy management, quality control and traceability, through development policy operations and green fertilizer production projects.

For his part, the Vice President of the World Bank for West and Central Africa, Ousmane Diagana, placed particular emphasis on the Bank's commitment to increasing financial and technical support for resilient agriculture that promotes development sustainable and job-creating, in collaboration with African institutions.
