Mali has the potential to feed and clothe the 400 million inhabitants of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) or, at least, the 140 million people in the UEMOA region.

To achieve this goal, Mali must focus on the accelerated development of meat and milk production, as well as on exploiting the waste from these farms to access all renewable energies. This requires an effective economic and social organization of production-processing chains, especially as regional integration plays an increasingly important role in this economic and social organization

Biogas and bioethanol can also represent an economic driver for Mali in the context of the global energy transition. The energy transition therefore represents an essential part of the ecological transition, by improving energy efficiency and sobriety, as well as by transforming the energy production system towards renewable and less polluting energy sources
