Le secrétaire général de la Banque, Vincent O. Nmehielle a annoncé que les Assemblées annuelles de la African Development Bank (BAD) are scheduled for 22-26 May in Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt). Discussions will revolve around the mobilization of private funds to finance green and sustainable growth in Africa

During a videoconference organized in Abidjan, and co-moderated by the Vice-Presidents of the African Development Bank, the Secretary General of the African Development Bank announced that “the 58th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Group of Banque africaine de développement and the 49th Annual Meeting of the African Development Fund will be held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, from 22 to 26 May 2023 under the theme +Mobilising private sector finance for climate and green growth in Africa+”. This meeting will allow participants to discuss the most effective strategies to mobilize more private funds to finance the green economy in African countries, including national resources from African countries themselves.

For Vincent O. Nmehielle, the climate finance gap in Africa “could reach 127 billion dollars (billions of dollars), or even 150 billion dollars per year by 2030.
