The National Employers Council (Cnp) organized “2023 Business Meetings” that ended on Friday, February 17, 2023 in Senegal.

On Thursday 16, Mamadou Moustapha Bâ, the Minister of Finance and Budget, chaired the symposium on “The contribution of insurance to the national economy”, one of the forums of the “Assises de L& rsquo; company 2023”. He explained the “relative weakness” of insurers' investment in the national economy by “the weak expansion of life insurance.” According to him, the weak expansion of life insurance is characterized by a presence in long-term investments, unlike non-life insurance, whose resources collected constitute short-term means of financing, with a very rapid frequency of disbursement to cover the commitments undertaken.

According to the minister, “the sector's capacity to finance the economy will therefore be all the more important as the life insurance branch, which collects long-term resources, is developed& just like modern markets.”
