Fight against the dependence and import of food on the African continent and allow the continent to be self-sufficient in food. This is the aim of the agreement between the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the African Development Bank Banque africaine de développement . They have thus joined forces through the establishment of a joint program called “Pan-African Mission 1 for 200 (M1-200)”.

According to IFAD, Pan-African Mission 1 for 200 (M1-200) has two objectives, namely to reduce Africa's dependence on food imports and to build sustainable, inclusive and climate-adapted food systems. This deal is an armour that confirms a partnership that thus consolidates the old agreements that existed between the AfDB and IFAD, to encourage and sustain agricultural production on the basis of a combined program to develop new technologies related to this field in exchange for investments that facilitate access to markets.

According to an IFAD document, this same program will be based on the policies of the African Development Bank, which are, in fact, those of implementing appropriate strategies that can make it possible to eradicate hunger in Africa.
