In collaboration with the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Shura Council of Qatar organized a forum of parliamentarians at the Fifth United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries (LDCs). It was Saturday, March 4, 2023 in Doha, Qatar.

The deputy of the Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT) Mamadou Yaro, also the General Rapporteur of the Finance and Budget Committee, announced that the forum organized during the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries eacute; s (PMA) aims to define and identify all the actions that parliamentarians may initiate or undertake in the context of the development of LDCs.

According to it, this forum provided an opportunity to discuss the role of parliaments in the development process of LDCs. Thus, the discussions revolved around four panels. The first on the subject “LDCs in their context: Unresolved problems and untapped opportunities”; the second on “Representation of women and youth in parliaments: The current situation”; the third “LDCs and aid: Towards more effective development cooperation” then the last “LDCs and governance: The challenge of institutional reforms & raquo;.
