On Saturday, March 4, 2023, the 21st ordinary session of the Conference of Ministers of the Sub-Regional Fisheries Commission (CSRP) took place in Dakar (Senegal). This session was an opportunity to highlight future challenges. Also, it was time to head the Conference Musa S. Drammeh, the Gambian minister in charge of fisheries.

The Conference of Ministers of the Sub-Regional Fisheries Commission has a new president who is replacing Abraão Aníbal Fernandes Barbosa from Cape Verde. Musa S. Deammeh from the Gambia is now leading his country's fisheries ministry. “We have the commitment and the desire to strengthen this organization that works for the interests of all member states” he announced. He said he was aware of the challenges related to the preservation and the cost of managing and controlling fishery resources, which showed the importance of subregional cooperation but also the support of Technical and Financial Partners (PTFs).
