The Centre of Excellence in Public Services Regulation (CEPUR) is the result of institutional collaboration between the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PURC). It would offer programs and award certificates in various courses related to the regulation and management of the electricity, water, and natural resources gas sectors; and engage in cutting-edge research for investment and policy decision-making in sectors of interest.
The center was inaugurated on the theme: “professionalism in the public services sector, key to Africa's development.” According to Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the center was relevant because emerging dynamics in the energy sector, including the energy transition and energy security issues, required a skilled and skilled workforce that was ready to help position Ghana and Africa to secure sustainable outcomes for future generations.
