The National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) announced in the latest edition of its report entitled “Statistical highlights” devoted to the month of January 2023 that the Senegalese economy recorded & eacute; price competitiveness gains estimated at 1.5%, changing monthly during the first month of the year

The performance of the Senegalese economy last January is largely explained by the favourable inflation differential (-2.1%), reduced by the appreciation of the local currency relative to the currencies of Senegal's trading partners (+0.6%). Competitiveness gains estimated at 2.0% and 1.2% respectively are noted, reflecting the favourable inflation differential against the partner countries that are members of the WAEMU and the Euro zone
