Find all the economic and financial information on our Orishas Direct application to download on Play StoreOn Monday, February 13, 2023, the West African Development Bank (BOAD) and Benin signed an agreement to finance the primary viability phase of the Ouèdo site in the commune of Abomey-Calavi. Thus, the bank disbursed 10 billion CFA francs.
The boad signs a financing agreement with the aim of developing the social housing project in Ouèdo. This signing is part of the 4th round of financing for this project, which aims to strengthen the Drinking Water Supply Network through the establishment of an autonomous network composed of a 1,000 m3 underground reservoir, and a 500 m3 water tower, a remote management system for the site, and the landscaping of the site; and increasing the power of the electricity network at the project site.
The Beninese government launched this program of 20,000 housing units in 14 cities across the country to improve the living environment of the population. According to a press release, the first phase is being implemented for the primary viability of the Ouèdo site in Abomey-Calavi; the secondary and tertiary viability of the sites, then the construction of 11,724 housing units, including 10,849 in Ouèdo, 175 in Porto-Novo, 250 in Parakou and 450 as departmental cities.
