On 13 February, the African Development Bank (AfDB) announced its approval for financial assistance for dam design studies and interconnection studies. This donation amounts to 201,000 euros.

The African Development Bank approved financing for Morocco as part of their agreement on a large portfolio of structuring projects. According to the Bank, “the grant, granted through the Bank's Technical Assistance Fund for Middle Income Countries, aims to offer the Government of Morocco technical assistance for dam design studies, river development and interconnection studies between hydraulic basins. This assistance is intended for the Directorate of Hydraulic Facilities of the Ministry of Equipment and Water.”

This project will allow an assessment of the technical feasibility of large and small dam, river protection, and interconnection projects before they are launched. It will also be a question of guaranteeing the most suitable design for the project, by carrying out technical expertise and confirming the technical characteristics of complex projects by using experts in the field.
