As part of the expansion phase of the Policy Improvement and Implementation Project foncier rural (PAMOFOR), a project financed by the Bank, it is announced that nearly 37,000 rural land certificates will be issued this year. An announcement made by the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, on Friday, February 10, 2023, in Abidjan.

PAMOFOR extends over five years and costs 50 million dollars, or 25 billion CFA francs. For the extension phase, which is scheduled to start in 2023, a total of 16,000 land certificates have already been issued and the challenge ahead is to issue 37,000 additional land certificates. During the presentation of the 10th anniversary of the work of the PAMOFOR monitoring mission and the formulation of the Project to Strengthen foncière Rural Security (PRESFOR), the Minister of State, Adjoumani, commended the Bretton Woods institution for supporting this project. For him, mastering land issues is a prerequisite for the harmonious development of any country.

According to him, it is necessary for Côte d'Ivoire to make securing rural land rights one of its priorities in all its development programmes.
