En marge des dernières assemblées de l' organisation panafricaine tenue From 20 to 24 February 2023 in Kinshasa, Mauritania was designated for the first time to welcome the general meetings of the Federation of African National Insurance Companies (FANAF) to be held in February 2024.

Mauritania was chosen by vote instead of the usual consensus to host the general meetings of the Federation of African National Law Insurance Companies (FANAF) and to the detriment of Morocco, the second largest African market, which already hosted the event in 2017. Indeed, strongly supported by West African countries, the Mauritanian application was promoted and defended by Mohamed Abdallahi EL Hebly, Secretary General of the Professional Association of Insurers of Mauritania (APAM), who came to Kinshasa with the special mandate to defend his case to the end.
