Depuis le lundi 5 juin dernier, une mission du Fonds monétaire international (FMI ) is staying in Togo to launch the 'Strengthening Public Financial Management' Project, which will be implemented over the period 2023-2026, with funding from the European Union. Activities end on Thursday, June 8.

The project, called “Strengthening Public Financial Management”, includes three major axes. First and foremost, it involves the preparation, execution and reporting of a comprehensive, credible budget that contributes to achieving public policies such as gender equality and the fight against climate change. Second, the management of public investments will be discussed with the aim of strengthening the programming, budgeting and implementation of public investment projects

Finally, the last axis focuses on managing fiscal risks with sophisticated tools to analyze risks that may affect public finances. The IMF mission present there will provide guidance from the Togolese authorities and identify the needs of services to schedule technical assistance during the intervention period
