Since Monday, June 5, 2023, immigration officials and the special police station at Lomé Airport have been training in documentary fraud. It is a strengthening of operational capacities in the face of document fraud and behavioral analysis

The training session for the thirteen immigration officials is led by experts from the French Directorate for Security and Defense Cooperation. The objective of this training is to strengthen the operational capacities of participants in the area of documentary fraud, in order to further secure air transport at Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport in Lomé. In reality, in the area of transnational organized crime, particularly in connection with trafficking in human beings and migrants, but also terrorism, the use of counterfeit, falsified or fraudulently issued identity and travel documents is recurrent to try to evade border controls and undermine the security of countries,
