A French businessman is under investigation in France, particularly for aggravated tax fraud and corruption laundering. He made a fortune in mining in Africa.

The investigation into the French businessman targeted for fraud was opened after a report from Tracfin. One aspect of this investigation concerns the purchase by this Corsican businessman of land in Ajaccio in Corsica, a French Mediterranean island, to build a major real estate complex. According to a judicial source, searches were carried out in 2022 and at the end of January in Paris and Corsica, particularly at a construction company and at the Ajaccio city hall. In reality, seizures were carried out by the financial prosecutor's office for several million euros and the real estate project was blocked due to this seizure. The businessman, who has not been a French resident since 2016, was questioned by investigators in January 2022 during a stay in Corsica.
