The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama a lancé un appel à N New Delhi, India, during its participation in the first meeting of foreign ministers, under the Indian presidency of the Group of Twenty (G20). He called for the inclusion of Nigeria and the African Union (AU) in the G20. He also called for the reform of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB).

Onyeama said in a statement by his media assistant that it was an honor and a privilege to address the rally, following an invitation to Nigeria as a guest country at the G20 under the presidency of India. For him, India's invitation demonstrated the high level of warm relations that exist between Nigeria and India in particular and G20 members in general.

“ I am therefore firmly convinced that, as the largest economy in Africa, with stable and uninterrupted democratic governance, Nigeria should become a permanent member of the G20 in the near future,” he said. On the theme “One Earth, One Family, One Future” considered well thought out by the former Deputy Director General of Organisation Mondiale de la Propriété Intellectuelle (OMPI) , he therefore congratulated the Government of India. According to him, the theme took into account the importance of the earth and the need to protect it.
