The German renewable energy company GRIPS Energy and its Dakar subsidiary GRIPS Energy Senegal SUARL, have announced the commissioning of their first solar photovoltaic power plant in Senegal.

On May 16, in Diama, Saint-Louis, GRIPS Energy and the Société des Cultures Légumières (SCL) celebrated the success of the SCL solar project, along with distinguished guests from business, education, and government. In fact, the completion of the 604 kWp ground solar PV plant is an important step in SCL's journey to reduce its carbon footprint while simultaneously reducing its electricity costs

Selon Hamedine BA, “the implementation of the project went well and we are already seeing the reduction in our electricity bill. We are even considering expanding the factory with an energy storage system.”
