Appointed President of the High Authority for Preventing and Combating Corruption and Similar Offences (HAPLUCIA), Kimelabalou Aba was sworn in on Thursday, February 9, 2023 in Lomé, in accordance with the texts that regulate the functioning of the institution.

In the presence of several judicial and administrative authorities, political and traditional leaders as well as members of the outgoing HAPLUCIA team, Magistrate Kimelabalou Aba was sworn in before the Supreme Court. He is “solemnly committed to carrying out his mission with integrity and neutrality, all with great responsibility.” In addition, Aba promised during her first term at the head of HAPLUCIA to “continue to intensify awareness-raising for a concerted national fight against the phenomenon of corruption.”

The new president was appointed by decree No. 2023-13/PR of January 24, 2023, and was installed on January 31, 2023, pending the appointment of the other members of HAPLUCIA.
